A Ghibli Utopia

My vibrant digital fanart series ‘A Ghibli Utopia’ celebrates some of my favourite animated films made by Studio Ghibli. This artwork is inspired by Miyazaki’s well-known distaste for the perceived ‘trashiness’ of mainstream commercial anime (such as the excessive voyeurism and juvenile fan service-oriented culture). In contrast, these Studio Ghibli films deviate from the ‘norm’ as phenomenal pieces of storytelling that capture breathtaking fantasy worlds with loveable characters.
