Unapologetic Fangirl

This is my digital artwork side-project titled ‘Unapologetic Fangirl’. It celebrates all the fun, cheeky and nostalgic elements of being a teenage girl / young woman immersed into 'stan culture' and female-dominated fandoms (namely boy bands, YA novels, Kawaii culture and Shoujo anime). In our patriarchal world where young girls and women are constantly dismissed and ridiculed for their ‘vapid’ or ‘frivolous’ interests, this art piece intends to celebrate the quintessential fangirl experience in all its glorious (and sometimes embarrassing) moments.
