Project Title:

Tharunka - Student Publication & Editorial Design | 2021

Deliverables:

  • Editorial Design

  • Social Media and Web Design

  • Marketing Collateral

  • Illustration

Tharunka is UNSW’s longest-running student publication since 1953, dealing with politics, culture and social commentary. Chosen as Tharunka’s Graphic Designer for 2021, I was responsible for the overarching design layout and composition of 3 print issues.

These print editions are distributed around campus every trimester. I also worked with other print marketing materials (including posters, brochures and flyers), alongside digital assets such as website banners and social media post templates. In my role, I had to work with an editorial team, tasked with managing several sub-designers / illustrators.

Tharunka: O-Week Posters

These are posters that advertise the student publication Tharunka, created for the Orientation Week at the University of New South Wales.

Tharunka - Web & Social Media Graphics

For ‘Tharunka’ 2021, I also created several web graphics for Instagram, Facebook and the official Tharunka website. The design and illustration style vary for each graphic based on the nature / content of the article, but generally, I have used bright and vivid colours to capture the viewer’s attention when casually scrolling through social media.
